Erfahrungsbericht Skoda Octavia 1.6 (100 PS) von Anonymous, März 2019
I bought this Octavia I in 2010 and it was maid in 2001 so it was a 9 years old car already when I bought it. I have the 1.4 16V 75HP AXP engine, the same that the Golf IV have. This engine have pros and cons compared to the 103? HP 1.6 engine. The pro would be the lower consumption and the 16V offered advantage. The con would be a slightly slower acceleration because the 75 CP engine. When overtaking a car you need at least 2800+ revolution in order to succeed. I would recommend this engine for those who travel alone or more in the city or with 2-3 person max or with max 120 Km/h speed. The engine running well in higher speeds but it would become noisy. Otherwise I found this car very reliable, with few problems to repair.
I changed in 9 years the 1x suspensions, 1x lambda sensor, 1X exhaust drums, 1x the ignition coils, 1x the front left dors bow-den cables so far...nothing serious.
I change the oil/filters at 10 000 max 12 000 Km. The Octavia also runs at LPG and the economy is significant ( equivalent of a car with a 4.1-4.2 liters/100 Km of gasoline consumption! ) The car needs about 7 liters of LPG/100 Km mixt/average a very good value with a max 110 Km/H cruising speed.
Overall it's a good car for those who looking to go from point A to point B needing a huge trunk ( 535 Liter), wanting low a acquisition/maintenance cost. Recommend converting to LPG and you have a Toyota Prius like consumption without investing a lot in the car. Obviously the Toyota gonna run more quietly and comfortably but...this is so much cheaper and you have no fear if somebody scratch your car or worse.
